Dr. Josh Umbehr, AtlasMDALL are welcome to attend this evening presentation. Dr. Josh Umbehr from Wichita, Kansas will be in DC this Friday, Nov. 6, to speak about his creative — and increasingly spreading — approach to addressing the pressing issues of the need for medical practice innovation, patient advocacy, and workable healthcare solutions. "Dr. Josh" began AtlasMD, a direct-primary care practice, in which patients pay a modest monthly fee and in return have nearly unlimited access to primary care. This model allows doctors to have fewer patients than average, meaning more time for doctors and patients to interact. He will speak to why Direct Primary care may be the answer to better healthcare in the US.

There will be a mixer following at Mission in Dupont.

The Marian University College of Osteopathic Medicine - BRI Chapter will be pairing up with the Thomas More Society and Operation Leftover to meet and serve the homeless and impoverished in Indianapolis. We will meet at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church to take canned foods, warm clothing, personal hygiene items, and other appropriate donations to people in need around downtown Indianapolis.

ALL are welcome and invited to join us in an evening of service. Donations are also appreciated.

Arguing the Affirmative: Dr. David Leven, Executive Director of Compassion & Choices of New York.

Arguing the Opposition: Dr. Stefan Baumrin (Ph.D. Johns Hopkins University and J.D. Columbia University School of Law) will debate the question of whether physicians should participate intentionally in hastening a patient's death. Following the debate, students will break out into small groups to discuss the issue further. Issues related to physician autonomy, patient wellbeing, and the intersection of ethics, law, and government will be explored.
