Colin Gunn’s 2014 documentary on the perils of government sponsored healthcare will be screened. Wait Til It’s Free is “A provocative documentary film that takes a hard and honest look at the way we do healthcare in America.
The film looks at everything from the escalating cost of health insurance to the move towards socialized medicine – and some alternatives which preserve the doctor-patient relationship while providing quality care at affordable prices.
A discussion of the film will follow.
POST-EVENT SUMMARY: We had pizza and soda during the screening and discussion. Five of the people that attended were medical students. The others were students in Marian’s undergraduate program, and future nursing student at Marian. The screening went well. The attendees were very interested in the content of the film. After the screening, the people that attended discussed various ideas in the film for 30+ minutes.
Event Summary:
This was the 1st BRI event at MUCOM other than the call-out meeting. After the screening, we discussed various ideas in the film for 30+ minutes. There was lots of interest in what the film was about, and how free markets can play a more positive role in healthcare. The seven who attended were more than happy to share what they though about the film. Attendees included 5 medical students, and two undergraduate future nursing students.
