POST-EVENT SUMMARY: Twenty-eight students attended to hear Mr. Mark Morrison and Mr. Chris Howard give an overview of the financial literacy and considerations needed in order to start your own practice. Topics that came up in this talk included advice on what common loans we would be given as a start-up practice, as well as finding a necessary real estate professional to vouch for us as a practicing physician.
This talk provided a great introduction to the skills, staff, and finances needed to start your own practice. Healthcare professionals could benefit from learning about real estate representation and loan negotiations prior to engaging in medical financing solutions, especially for those interested in developing their own private practice.” ~June Tong, SLU-BRI chapter co-president
“Provided a very good, albeit rushed overview of the financial considerations needed for a private practice. I think it would have been beneficial to have expanded the event, because there was a surprisingly larger representation of 3rd year medical students in the audience. In addition, we received emails regarding recording the presentation, which we couldn’t do due to technical limitations within the room. The speakers were very knowledgeable and I would greatly recommend them as a source of knowledge for those interested in starting their own practice.” Event attendee, SLU
