NOTE: This takes place in the Central Time Zone.
ALL are welcome to attend Chicago Medical School’s Benjamin Rush Institute Chapter’s first informational meeting and networking event. We will be serving snacks and soft drinks, and will discuss BRI’s mission to promote solutions that protect the doctor-patient relationship as the primary means of delivering quality medical care.
We will also use this as an opportunity to invite interested students to run as BRI Officers, or volunteer, and what events we would be interested in holding for the remainder of the academic year.
We hope you’ll join us!
POST-EVENT SUMMARY:
Eight (8) interested students joined us at our inaugural event. This meeting had a dual purpose: to serve as a general meeting for the chapter board and affiliated members, and to provide prospective members — many who had signed up for our email list earlier in the year — information on what we do to achieve our goals, and how to become full members and seek board positions.
Unfortunately, for reasons beyond our control, we were moved from our scheduled room, and unable to adequately communicate the change. Needless to say, turnout was much lower than anticipated. We are going to hold another event soon to ensure that everyone interested has an opportunity to learn about BRI.
We did have a productive meeting among board members and other active members, and have a good plan for the rest of the year in place.
