Scott W. Atlas, MD, is the David and Joan Traitel Senior Fellow at Stanford University’s Hoover Institution and a member of Hoover Institution’s Working Group on Health Care Policy. Dr. Atlas will be speaking to the SLU BRI chapter about his research and ideas about health care reform in the United States. All are welcome to attend.
POST-EVENT SUMMARY: Thirty students attended. Dr. Scott Atlas started his presentation by addressing the common misconceptions about single-payer . He focused on dismantling the erroneous WHO report, specifically the infant mortality and life-span data.
He also addressed the large failings of the US’s public insurers – medicare, medicaid, and 
the VA. After he made suggestions on would we could do to improve our current system.
He addressed audience questions during the last 20-30 minutes. There was lots of good questions and the audience was very engaged.
